Xavier Uses a Strong Start to Advance to Championship Monday
Last night Xavier came out of the gate firing to build a seven run lead against Washington. The first four innings of the game were full of scoring and excitement. The last five innings were a study in patience as not much happened. Once again the bullpens came in to shut down the hitters. One thing that has been very apparent during this regional is that the bullpens for the most part have been rock solid. A lot of comebacks and near comebacks have happened because the bullpen came in to save the day. As I write this I am waiting to see what my fate for the day will be. I have at least one more game to photograph. This afternoon Xavier plays UCSB one more time at least. If Xavier wins then another game will be played tonight in a winner take all regional championship. If Xavier fails to win then they are done, and UCSB advances to Louisville next weekend.
The Week in Photos
This last week was a really fun week as far as making pictures was concerned. Having just come back from covering the MVC Tournament I was ready for a break, but having the Canon 200-400mm lens waiting for me got me out shooting a little earlier than I had anticipated. It started with the Sectional Championship game at Loeb Stadium on Monday. I only shot a few innings, but they were great innings to shoot full of jube. The the Lafayette Aviators started their inaugural home season on Wednesday night. Of course five games of the NCAA Tournament regional were also a huge part of my week in Nashville. In the Exposure page I have a few of my walking around Nashville photos although I did not do as much of that as I could have because of the extended days at the ballpark. This was a great week for photos, and I don’t know how I could top this next week. You can look through some of my favorite photos here. I apologize for the large gallery, but I had some fun this week. I will not post a bonus section below as those photos are in the Exposure gallery.
