The Indians Defeat the RailRiders 7-3 to Take a 1-0 Series Lead
Last night I was in Indianapolis to cover the opening game of the 2015 International League playoffs for the Indianapolis Indians. It was a pleasant surprise the day before when I found out that my baseball season was not finished yet. I went down to Indy with a game plan in mind on how I was going to cover the game. Of course a six run first inning for the Indians changed that a little. I decided after getting some shots that I really liked in that inning to mix my lens and camera options up a little. It was very freeing to already have some good shots in the can so to speak so early in the game. More importantly the Indians won. Game two is tomorrow night.
Tony Sanchez Prepares For the Game
If you follow this blog then you know that I love the catcher. It is my favorite position on the field, and I try and show the different aspects of it in my photos. Last night I saw a new aspect of it up close and personal. Indians catcher Tony Sanchez was applying neon stickers to his nails before taking the field. I went over to him to get the basic shot of the catcher getting ready. He told me that I might like what he was about to do next. I liked seeing a new part of the game that I didn’t even know about when I arrived at the park. It is photos like this that make it all worthwhile.

During the game I was trying to send files up to the press box as often as I could. Without wi-fi in my camera it is not an easy process, but rather one that takes a little time. All in all though the images still get there fairly quickly. If you follow the Indy Indians on Twitter you can see what I am doing in real time tonight.
