The Boilermakers Are On A Roll
Last night I was in Valparaiso to see the game between Purdue and Valpo. I was not far from my hometown, and it was good to get back for a few hours again. In the past I have seen many games at Bauer Field, but not since the days of Kyle Gaedele. Purdue is in the middle of what is an interesting portion of their schedule. They just finished a Saturday-Monday series in Nebraska. They then had to get to Valpo for the Tuesday game. They then finish the season against Penn State at home in a Thursday-Saturday series. That is a lot of games in a weeks span, but this team is hot so that is okay. They used a lot of early runs to hold on to beat Valpo, and run their winning streak to three games. I don’t know how many games I will be able to attend this weekend, but I will be there Tomorrow night to see them try and extend the winning streak to four.
Mike Lutz Has a Solid Outing, Matt Frawley Closes It Out
Once again Mike Lutz had a solid outing. He made the most of his first start of 2015 pitching into the seventh and getting the win. He had a knack for getting out of jams during the game, and that helped him earn the win. Matt Frawley came into the game in the bottom of the ninth, and struck out the final two batters of the game with the bases loaded to get the save. He came up big with the meat of Valpo’s order up, and the winning run on base.
Bonus Photos
Below I have placed a few extra photos that I liked from the game. As usual you can click on any photo to go to that photo in my gallery, or you can click here to see the full gallery.
