Chukwuebuka Enekwechi Starts off the Rankin Invitational with a School Record
Last night I was on campus photographing the first event of the Dave Rankin Invitational for Purdue. Chukwuebuka Enekwechi (Chuk) started things off with a bang setting the school and facility records for the hammer throw. He beat his nearest competitor by 30 feet. That is a strong statement to get things going with. Chuk is a competitive guy that was upset during warmups at a throw that would be a school record most places. It is that drive that makes him one of the best in the country. I will get to see Chuk again today as he throws the shot put.
Bonus Photos
Chuk wasn’t the only competitor throwing for Purdue yesterday. They had a few competitors out there giving it their all. Here are a few photos from the night that I liked of everyone. Last night was more of an easy going night with some time in between Boilers throwing. Today will be much more hectic as I try and cover multiple events going on at the same time. I act like I am upset about it, but I love the way that the day plays out. It is a challenge that I love each year. I will have more on that in the next couple of days. For now here are some photos.
