Using the Lee Big Stopper For Effect
A couple of months ago my step daughter and I made our way to the Loeb Fountain on a hot day. I had just gotten my Lee Big Stopper, and I wanted to put it to use. Moving water and clouds are great subjects for doing just that. I set up like I normally would on a shot like this, and then changed things up a bit. For sports most of the time I want to be as low as possible. That would have made the buildings in the background disappear though. I got up on a bench with my tripod to get a little different angle. Part of the fun of this photo is the fact that my step daughter is in it. Can you find her?
To Go With Color or Black and White?
When I first posted this photo just after taking it I posted it in color. I thought that it might also look good in black and white as well. I pumped up the contrast and the blacks after performing the conversion. For some reason it just looks a bit more ominous to me than the other photo. I like both though, and they are now both on this blog.
