Photo of the Day
Yesterday I covered the Big Ten Track and Field Championships at Purdue. It was the first day of the event, and scheduled pretty light. That was good news because a torrential rain fell nearly the entire day. While it made for shooting conditions that were not the best it did make for some fantastic photos. The 10k races under the lights and a heavy rain were very exciting to photograph. Usually in a race like that you get the shots you need of your guy, and then move on. Last night it seemed as if most of the photographers were lined up having some fun with the conditions. The light was not great, but when you found a sliver of it you were set. Most of the photos here are of Purdue hammer throw specialist Chuck Enekwechi. He won the Big Ten Title on a very slippery circle. I have now only seen the hammer throw a couple of times, but it is quickly becoming one of my favorite events.
Bonus Photos
Here are a few other photos from the day that I liked. I am going to put a page break in here because there are so many photos. I don’t want to fill up the front page with them. Just click through to see the images.
