Photo of the Day
Yesterday was another busy day. I photographed the Purdue women’s tennis win over Michigan State, and then made my way over to Alexander Field to photograph the Purdue baseball win over Michigan. It was a fun day of photographing that left me with a few images that I enjoyed. One of them that I really enjoyed is the above image of Purdue second baseman Cody Strong sliding into third base. Strong was on second base when I turned my camera vertical to get a shot of him running towards third. A fly ball was hit to right field, and sure enough Strong tagged up. I had some nice shots of him running right at me, and then I realized that he was going to come in just a little behind the ball. A creative slide later, and I had my photo. He was safe on the play, and I had my first really good image of the day. Once that one is out of the way the pressure is off, and you can have some fun. For some reason Strong was in many of the photos that I liked from the game yesterday. Sometimes it seems as if a player will really take over a photo gallery. I try to spread out the wealth, but one player will make sure that they get in more than some others.
Bonus Photos
As I said above I made images for two sports yesterday so I have two galleries up on PurdueSports.com. You can find my tennis gallery here, and my baseball gallery here. With that being said here are a few other shots that I liked from the day.
