Photo of the Day
Last night I shot the season opener for Purdue Baseball. As the sun goes down the shadows create some interesting effects on the field. As Purdue was in the field one inning I could see that some great light was moving up the pitcher. On a very cold day I wanted a quick game, but for that half inning I wanted things to slow down. Of course they did not, and the light was the best while Purdue was at the plate. That did not stop me from making a picture of IPFW pitcher Cody O’Neal. I loved how the light put a spotlight on his head and the ball. I already had good coverage of the batter at the time so I made a couple of pictures during two pitches. This is the second of the two images that I made. This was a moment that happened once during the game, and I was glad that I was able to capture it. On a cold day with not a whole lot of highlights for IPFW this was one of them. I just want to say before I go that Purdue is now 2-0 when I photograph them this season. With the Big Ten season coming up I think that I need to start going to many more games.
Bonus Photos
I usually have a few photos from the game here, but since I have a gallery on PurdueSports.com I will direct you there to see it. For at least a couple of days now this will be the end of the sports photos. I am sure that next week I will be up and running with them again.
