Watching college athletics leaves you with the same bittersweet moment every year. You have a group of kids who you saw come in to college playing their last home game. Today was that day for the Purdue Women’s Basketball team. Technically they play at least one more home game as they host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament in a couple of weeks. Today though was the last regular season game at home for three players. It is really amazing how far all of them have come, and it will be fun watching them in the postseason. Senior day is a great day though to make some really interesting pictures. The emotion that the players feel really makes for some great images. As the various participants make their speeches some of the best photos come from the people watching the speeches. This is the third senior day that I have photographed this year at Purdue. You really can see what the sport means to the players and the people around them as they take to their field, court, or whatever for the last time. That is what makes college athletics so great.
