Learning Under the Full Moon

Photo of the Day

Today I thought I would post another photo from the past weekend. I was in my hometown for a few days, and I had a chance to make a few photos of it. One of the nights my brother and I went out to play around with our cameras. He has a new camera from Christmas, and we were trying some things out with it. I brought mine out to try a couple of things, but with my tripod in West Lafayette I had to crank up the ISO and go handheld. I thought that the result was okay though.

Technical Data

As I said before I had my ISO at 10,000 for this photo. That allowed me to make this image, but it also made it very grainy. I used the noise reduction feature in Lightroom to get rid of some of that noise. I also adjusted the white balance to add a bit more blue to the scene. I always think that the camera tries to make the scenes at night a bit too warm. I like to cool them down a bit especially when there is some snow on the ground.
