Photo of the Day
In 2000 I watched the South Bend Silverhawks play many games. For some reason it seems as if more players from that low A ball team moved on to the Major Leagues than usual. Maybe it is just the fact that we saw them enough that we felt we knew them pretty well. One of those players from that magical 2000 season is Chris Capuano. I have followed Chris closely since that year in A ball. He started his career in the Diamondbacks organization, but then was traded to the Brewers with a host of other players for Richie Sexson. The Brewers got the better end of that deal, and Chris has continued to be a consistent performer since then. Above is a picture that I took of Chris last Saturday as he picked up a win against the Cubs.
Throwback Picture
I thought that I would share this picture taken with my Sony Mavica in 2000. That little point and shoot camera was very good, but as you can see many things have changed in that time. I gave up photography for a short period before really diving into it in 2011. I am glad that I can go back and redo some of the older pictures that I took that are sports related. You can’t recreate the moment, but you can recreate the feel. I really am not comfortable sharing the picture above because of its many deficiencies. Back then though I thought it was great, and I even sent Chris a copy of it to autograph. He did sign it for me which helped him become a player that I followed.
