Photo of the Day
Today I will be attending the Cubs game against the Dodgers. For once I think the talk is not of any of the Cubs players but rather Yasiel Puig of the Dodgers. He looks like he could be a great ballplayer if he can keep out of his own way. I thought that I would post this picture of another Cubs icon today. This is a picture of the Harry Caray sculpture outside of Wrigley Field. I took this in 2004 before it was moved near the bleachers. I have always thought that the heads coming out of the bottom were a bit creepy. I took this on my brother’s 21st birthday as we were walking over to the stadium from The Cubby Bear. It was a great day, and thanks to my point and shoot I have some great memories from that day.
Technical Data
This picture was taken in 2004 with a Kodak point and shoot. I didn’t want to tax the pixels too much so I didn’t do much to the photo in Lightroom. I cropped the photo from a boring horizontal shot to a portrait. I think that my eye was not trained very well at the time. I then applied the light sports preset from Matt Kloskowski to the image. It really works well for shots like this. I got rid of some of the vignetting, but then applied some back into the bottom corners with a brush to hide the people that were in the shot. An easy picture to edit, but I think the editing made it a bit more interesting.
