Throwback Photo
Part of my time in Iowa was spent at the Bob Feller Museum in Van Meter, Iowa. This is a small museum that is funded entirely on donations. The town is very proud of their former Major League start though. I had some great times there meeting some of my childhood heroes. This picture was taken of a mural on the side of the building. For some reason I never thought that my pictures of it looked right. I do like how this turned out though. The entire museum is a great tribute to Bob Feller though. If you are ever near Des Moines then you are close enough to the museum to give it a shot. It is worth your time.
Technical Data
I did not do too much to this photo in Lightroom, but I did use some of the sliders to bring it a little more to life. I also cropped it a bit so that you could just see the mural. I think that the rest of the building was a bit distracting. I would love to go back to the museum now with my dSLR to see what kind of pictures that I could make. After I thought about it a little I changed the course of this photo completely. I used a Matt Kloskowski preset for Lightroom to make this a black and white. His HDR black and white (light) preset really was a great fit for the photo, and was the thing that had been missing all of these years.
