March Madness Tips Off

The Opening Tip

Sports Photo of the Day

In just a couple of hours the world will stop what they are doing to watch the NCAA Tournament. Right now at workplaces across the country people are working feverishly so that they can then watch games this afternoon. Technology has really made it easy to push your work aside. The next two days really should be holidays so that everyone can give the tournament their full attention instead of work getting in the way. Over the course of those two days you will have underdogs trying to make history, and high seeds trying to live up to expectations. It really is a great time of year.

I guess I should talk about the picture above. This was taken during the tip off of game two in Spokane, Washington during the 2010 NCAA Tournament. I posted a photo from the end of the game yesterday, and I thought that I could post a photo from the beginning of the game today. This was one of the best basketball games that I have seen so it is fitting that I post a photo from it.

Technical Data

I wanted to keep it simple in processing this photo so I used Matt Kloskowski’s light sport preset. From there I just needed a couple of tweaks to add a little pop to this jpeg. Now that I shoot in RAW I don’t know what I did before. I was relying on my camera to decide what to accentuate in my photos. Now I have control of that.

Sports Day

I am sorry, but today will probably be a sports heavy day on this blog. The sports photos do not get the reception that my other photos do, but so many things sports related are going on that I feel that I have to put up some sports posts today. I went to the Purdue game in the first round of the CBI Tournament last night so I will probably post a photo from there. I also have a Throwback Thursday photo that is sports related. Get ready to see some sports today.
