Photo of the Day
My last full day in Colorado I was sitting down having breakfast looking out the window. We had a group full of people all talking, but I couldn’t stay in the conversation. I was watching the clouds move across Sand Mountain, and getting an idea. I knew that if I just moved my vantage point over a few feet that the tall trees would frame my picture very nicely. I hurried up and finished breakfast, and then grabbed my camera. I went out on the deck and took the picture that you see above. I tried to wait until the mountain itself was clear, but enough clouds were around it so that you could see what I saw that day. I really was in heaven with my camera out in Colorado, and I am sorry if I was not into very many conversations because of it.
Technical Data
This was an easy picture to work with. The frost from the night before had left a nice white glaze on the far off mountain. My main goal here was to develop the picture to bring that out as well as the blue sky above. The lack of clouds in the sky led me to not include much of it in the shot, but what was there I wanted to have it looking as nice as it did that day. When I thought that I was done with the photo I did add a little contrast and clarity to the picture. That gave it a little more edge. I did increase the vibrance slider as well. This photo was not a long edit, but it did bring out the colors in the RAW file nicely.
