I took this picture in 2000 during a trip to Milwaukee. Since I will be visiting the city again this weekend I thought that I would post a picture from that great trip. A construction accident allowed us to see County Stadium before it was torn down. This should have been the first season in Miller Park, but it turned out to be the last in County Stadium. This picture was taken in the ninth inning with the bases loaded and Sammy Sosa at the plate. The game was tied at four after a furious Cubs comeback. Sammy grounded out to second base to end the inning here. He did end up doubling in future Yankee manager Joe Girardi in the 15th inning though to win the game.
For some reason I cannot find some of pictures from this day. Luckily this shot was on Facebook. I upped the highlights a bit and recovered some of the shadow data. I couldn’t do much to this shot since it was taken 13 years ago. This was taken with the Sony Mavica which was a camera ahead of its time for sure.
