Sports Photo of the Day
Seeing that the Purdue women are playing in East Lansing today reminded me of a trip that I took up there a few years ago to see them play. I had no idea that this statue of Magic Johnson was outside of the stadium. I was very pleasantly surprised to see it there. What made it even better is while I was taking a picture of the statue a very nice gentlemen came over and gave me a free ticket to the game. I had basically taken my baseline shot of the statue when I got the free ticket. I did not try any other angles. I would love to give this statue another try someday from the left side.
Technical Data
For this statue I had trouble making it pop like it did in real life. I ended up getting to my final goal in an unconventional way. I used Matt Kloskowski’s ultimate fighter preset to start off. I adjusted some of the sliders to get the shot to where I normally like it. Then I took the saturation slider and turned it up a bit. That added some color back into the photo to get it to where I wanted it. I also cropped in a bit so that the statue was a bit more front and center.
