Here is a shot from my last trip to Colorado in 2010. The purpose of my trip was not to take pictures, but rather watch my brother get married. I have been gone way too long, and I can’t wait until I touchdown Monday. Colorado is truly a beautiful place, and I feel blessed that I have been able to visit as much as I have. All of my visits but one have been in the winter. I have a few ideas for pictures while I am there, but I am also going with an open mind. A shot like this could pop up in front of you, and if you are not prepared you may miss it.

Technical Data

Here was a case of bad metering on my part at the time. I metered too much on the sky so everything was kind of washed out. In Lightroom I was able to bring some of the highlights back making this a much more appealing image to me. I also had some spots on my sensor that showed up in the sky. I use the clone tool in Lightroom to make those go away. I can’t wait to get out to Colorado with the things that I have learned in the past couple of years. This will be a fun trip, and you the reader will probably bear the brunt of it seeing many posts over the coming months from my journey.
