Photo of the Day
Late in August we were in Chicago to attend a couple of baseball games. Before all of that could be done though I wanted to get a good sunrise picture over Lake Michigan. The sunrise did not pan out, but I did get some good golden hour pictures on the beach. This was one of them. This was a cool little bar right on the beach that must do a great business in the summer. It was closed when I was here with an ugly gate in front. Someone inside was not liking the person that was trying to get in. I quickly stopped to get this shot, and then moved on. I saw the possibility from the beach, and thought I might have had something. I think that my instincts were good here.
Technical Data
This was a simple shot to edit. I actually did a quick edit and uploaded it to my Facebook page the day of the shoot. I took more time for this version though doing all of my work in Lightroom. I really just tweaked the main sliders that I use to get the shot to look close to what I saw that day. The contrast adjustment really seemed to be the big one here that made the shot pop.
