Throwback Photo
I used to pay attention to NASCAR a little, but lately my interest has waned. To be honest I had completely forgotten that their season was still going on until I heard about a dust up between drivers Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer this past weekend. I guess they will have another champion, but who is watching? They had something interesting and good, but had to keep tinkering with it to try and make it better. I think they found out that they have a ceiling. The season will end Sunday without me watching a single race. A few years ago that was unheard of.
If you are going to attend a NASCAR race in person it has to be at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. This track is small, and there is not a bad seat in the house. I have attended a few races there, and it never disappoints Like I said the track is small so something is always going on. I may have to schedule some time next spring or fall to attend another race here. It is worth the cost for sure. This picture was taken just before the green flag during a pace lap. I liked how everything seemed to frame itself here. Early on I sometimes had an eye for a good picture. Now I hope to hone that eye even more. Maybe I can get here with my dSLR to get some much better shots. I would love to shoot this from trackside someday. You can always dream right?
Technical Data
I used my fairly new point and shoot to take this shot back in 2004. What impressed me at the time was how vivid the colors were compared to the Mavica that I was used to using. That is what makes it so funny that I chose to use one of Matt Kloskowski’s sports presets that actually desaturated the photo. I like the look though so that is all that matters.
