Photo of the Day
This was a picture that I really never thought would see the light of day. The picture is of the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge in Cincinnati. This was an afterthought as I was in Cincinnati in 2009 to watch the Civil Rights game that the Great American Ballpark. I don’t really remember the specifics here, but I think I shot this bridge from my parking garage just as I got into the city. I thought it looked cool, and I wish that I had taken the time to go near it to shoot it. In the end though I have something to look forward to when I get back to Cincinnati.
I started this process off by taking my jpeg and running it through On One Perfect Photo Suite’s B&W Effects 1. I am still trying the demo, and I wanted to see if I could get some decent results with it. I liked the general look of the modern straight setting so I saved the file and sent it back over to Lightroom. From there I brought back the shadows a bit, increased the highlights, and added a touch of clarity. I still don’t know if I love this shot, but it was a nice little detour on my trip. I need to go back someday and shoot this bridge properly.
