A New Angle on the Bean

Photo of the Day

In late March I had a fun couple of days in Chicago walking around and getting pictures. On my first day out I pretty much had the famous bean to myself. I really had fun shooting this new Chicago icon. I was waiting patiently for these two guys to get out of my way when I realized that they really made any picture I would shoot from this angle. They both gave it scale, as well as a bit of human interest. People love to get reflection pictures in ‘the bean.’

Technical Data

This was a pretty easy shot to edit. I took the RAW file into Lightroom and applied the Black and White Contrast High preset. I then adjusted the highlights and clarity to my liking, and then exported the photo. This was a pretty easy shot that I helped by using a preset.
