Random Photo of the Day
This is a little late, but I am not really here to break sports news. I was saddened the last night to hear that Robert Marve the Purdue quarterback had another ACL tear. He was really fun to watch, and you never hope that anyone who works hard to come back from an injury gets injured again. This is the third tear on the same knee. I was looking for a picture tonight to try out some new sports presets for Lightroom that Matt Kloskowski just put out. I saw this one of Marve that I took a couple of weeks ago, and I thought that it would be perfect. It was a cool shot, but the preset makes it look a little more rugged.
Technical Data
As I said before this was straight out of the camera then processed with the sports strong preset that Matt Kloskowski just put out. A small crop after that led to the photo that you see above. I don’t think that it will work for every sports shot, but for some it gives it a little more punch.
Kelby Worldwide Photowalk
Here is that part of the post where I talk about the photowalk that I am leading on campus after the Wisconsin game in October. The date is October 13th to be exact, and the walk will start at 4 o’clock est at the Neil Armstrong Statue in front of the Armstrong Hall of Engineering. Over 1,000 photowalks are planned around the world. If you are not near West Lafayette then you kind find a walk near you on the Kelby site. Sign up now to be part of this event. Nearly 17,000 walkers have already signed up so far. Activity has picked up a bit on the Purdue sites even with the short time being posted. You don’t have to be a pro (I am far from it) to attend. Any kind of camera is welcome as well. Here are a few links to the various sites which promote the event. If you want to sign up you should do so on the Kelby site in order to be eligible for the prizes though.

That’s a great shot. Love the vignette. Too bad about Marve. He seems to be just the kind of kid you want on your team.
I wasn’t sold on him at first, but he really is a gamer. He is talking about playing yet this season. If he can do that it will really be something.
