Photo of the Day
Today was a day once again where I did not have a picture until late. In fact the light was just about gone when I went out. I had a couple of ideas, but nothing really that great. I stumbled across an access point to the Wabash, and when I saw the moon I knew that I had a picture. It might not be the best one that I will take, but it has some interest. A great side note to the shot is that I think I spotted an eagle’s nest. I saw a gigantic bird fly into a tree, and I don’t know of anything else that big. A hawk is much too small to be what I saw. Maybe over the next couple of days I can get a picture of this eagle.
Technical Data
The biggest nuance to this picture is how it was imported. Tonight I was watching a Scott Kelby video about importing pictures. I almost skipped that portion at the beginning of the video, but I let it play. I am glad that I did because I have really not been using the import feature like I should be. They have some cool tools that will make a difference.
The picture itself is a single exposure that I took on the banks. It was meant to be part of a three shot HDR shot, but HDR and the moon rarely works out for me. I really just adjusted the exposure and highlights here. The rest was straight out of the camera.I had the 10-24 on the camera to start, but switched to the kit lens for fun. For some reason I thought the kit lens would look better. It was a mini experiment, and the wide angle lens won out.
