Photo of the Day
I edited this picture earlier today thinking that I would have to wait to post it since I already had two pictures posted for yesterday. Then I remembered one key factor. I took this shot at a little after two in the morning when the show was over. To me that means it was taken today, and I can post this picture right away. This has been a busy weekend that went late into the night. It was my first time seeing the Rocky Horror Picture Show live. I can tell you that it was quite an experience to be sure.
I have wanted to get this marquee of the Lafayette Theater on this blog for a while now. It works out great that I have it up twice today in two different posts. I love the way these things look lit up at night. The more I look at this picture the more that I like it. I think I had a backhanded compliment to myself when I first edited the picture. The more I see it the more I really like it.
Technical Data
This is a three shot HDR shot handheld at night. I had to bump up the ISO to get that done. I normally don’t like doing that, but to get this shot I had to. I ran it through Photomatix the way that I have been lately. The shot was processed, and I saved the 32 bit file to process in Lightroom. I like the way that the photo looks when I do this. Just for fun I tried to process the photo my old way just in Photomatix, and I was not happy with the result. The noise from the higher ISO really showed up in the upper right hand corner. I really worked a bit to get this one right because it was the shot that I wanted.
