Photo of the Day
Today was another weekend day that saw me go almost all day without taking a picture. Work combined with a busy schedule after the fact is partially to blame, but if I had seen something great I would have needed the excuse. I had no idea what my picture would be when I took my camera outside. When I saw the plant and the sign it became very clear. I have wanted to get a shot of this sign since the day that it came into our house. Today I finally took the picture.
I thought the title was a good one because these are green tomatoes. That is pretty straightforward. I took some liberty with the fried portion, but justified it in my mind by thinking of the hot dry summer that we have had. Anything that has not been watered has been scorched. These tomatoes are thriving though thanks to some TLC.
Technical Data
I played around with Lightroom a bit more here. I started off by trying the gradient filter to get the sky looking like I thought it should. For some reason though I did not like the result so I started over. I set the exposure where I thought it should be for the plant and the sign to start. From there I set the contrast and the clarity of the picture. I opened up the shadows and the highlights as well to give the shot a little more light. Finally I adjusted the green levels to give it a better look. In all reality most of this was unnecessary, but I really wanted to mess around with the sliders a bit.
