Day 280: Twin Crossings

Photo of the Day

Tonight I got off work late with no idea of what to shoot. Everything just seemed too far away. I was driving down 43 after a failed attempt to find something on a back road. I drove right past this scene, and I could not turn around quick enough. I tried this shot landscape, but it seemed off. I then tipped the camera to get the shot that you see above. I only took two bracketed sets because I knew that I had it after this one. I really like the symmetry of this shot. I may try something similar in the fall.

Technical Data

This shot had very little done to it. I opened it up in Lightroom and simply added some clarity to the shot. It looked great, but something was just not right. Without any clouds in the background I thought that the shot would not be to my liking. I decided to go for broke and try something new. I saw some presets on the left hand side that I have not used before. I tried a few of the black and white toned presets, and this one just popped out at me. I really liked the look of the shot. I don’t convert to black and white often, but I figured that this was a good time.
