Day 277: Public Housing

Photo of the Day

Yesterday I was still in LaPorte for most of the day. We spent part of the day at my uncle’s Housenwoods. He has a great property with many things to shoot. I had some fun in the target rich environment, but for some reason these bird houses stuck out to me. I may post some more from the gardens here in the future, but for now enjoy the houses.

Technical Data

This is a fun one to describe. I ran three photos through Photomatix to get my 32 bit image. Instead of tonemapping as I usually would I saved that file as a tif. I then opened that file in Lightroom. With the three stops of information it was fairly easy to get this where I wanted it. I love this technique, and I need to work on it a bit more. Many of the other pictures that I took yesterday of the flowers look good, but the nature of taking pictures in a woods make getting the colors right fun. That is a challenge that I look forward to so I will post some of the pictures when I get around to editing them.
