Today is a day that most spend celebrating the birth of this country. For me it is a chance to get some pictures that I can’t normally get. I have only attempted fireworks a couple of times, and I wasn’t particularly happy with the results. I was not on a tripod though so everything had to time out perfect. The picture above was taken last summer on the fourth at the White Sox game. I was resting the camera on my knee, but that is just not the same. I have read a few tips on shooting fireworks over the last couple of days so I think that tonight could be fun. I may end up on a parking garage with my camera tonight.
This is another shot that was taken with my Canon Rebel. I shot with this camera for five years before moving to the 60D. It was a good camera with some limitations, but shots like this prove it’s worth. The only post processing done to this shot was taking it into Topaz Adjust 5 and applying the Color Exposure preset to it. I think that it brought out some of the color that I did not capture hat day.
