Tonight we went out close to midnight to get some pictures of star trails. When we got to the farm I realized that the moon was just too bright to get the trails in one long exposure. I decided to try the stacking method and put many 30 second exposures together. When I took a test shot I realized that you could not see any movement of the stars. What I liked though was the way that the stars looked with the tractor in the foreground. On my second shot I noticed that there was something in the lower right hand corner. I still do not know what it is. The only thing that I can think of is if a farmer had his irrigation on and the light from his farm lit it up. I am really not sure what I captured, but I liked it. I have another shot that might be a little bit better composed, but in the end I liked the anomaly in this shot enough to make it the picture of the day. Just after taking this picture a pack of coyotes walked up on us. I think both sides were startled a bit, but in the end I took a couple more pictures after a quick trip to the car. I like how this turned out so some more star photography might be in store on the weekends.
