Tonight we went to Arni’s to meet the members of the Lafayette Brawlin’ Dolls. They were helping out there in return for some publicity for their bout this weekend against Naptown. I was going to get a shot of with the girls, but we just got a table instead. While at the table I looked around at everything inside the restaurant and wished that I had my camera. Wait! It was right next to me. I improvised a tripod by setting the lens on my wrist and took three shots in order to make an HDR. I was just messing around, but I kind of like the composition here.
I forgot to mention one important thing yesterday. I have been watching Trey Ratcliff’s 11+ hour HDR course the past couple of days. So far it has been pretty superficial, but I have already picked up a few things. In fact I had enough confidence to start off from scratch instead of using a preset and working off of that. I thought it would be harder, but I have been using Photomatix enough now to know the sliders quite a bit. I think that my pictures the last two days have looked a bit more realistic without the lighting box checked. As I get through the course I hope that my posts will show a lot of improvement.
strong work! I look forward to hearing more of your assessments of Trey’s class
