Day 195: Along the Wabash

Today I worked late again, and did not have a picture for the day. Luckily I did not work as late as I did last night so I had some time to get a good sunset picture. I liked how the clouds looked, and predicted a good sunset. Of course I do this all the time and I am rarely right. What I did next was a huge mistake. After I gassed up I turned towards Battleground, IN and started driving. I had a spot in mind, but when I got there I realized that I was too low to see anything. It was shortly after that when I drove over a one lane bridge over the Wabash River. I thought that it might make a decent picture, but it was not what I was looking for. If I could have been further down the river to get the bridge in the shot with the sun higher I would have been happier. Of course that didn’t happen so I had to improvise quickly. I hopped the guardrail and stood on a concrete pier to get this shot. I looked down once, and it was pretty far down so I know that I screwed up a couple of the longer exposures due to shaking. In the end this is a decent picture, but many factors could have made it better. After doing this for 200 days I expect a little more from myself. Of course it is hard to shoot a gallery image everyday. If photography was that easy it wouldn’t be any fun.
