A Nice Surprise
Last year we went to Indy to see a screening of Singing In The Rain at the Kan Kan Theater. I had never been to that theater before or the area as far as I knew. As we drove up to the theater I noticed the building across the street. It was a Carnegie Library. If you follow this blog then you know that I try and find them in cities that I visit, and of course it was amazing to find one by accident. Of course I made a few photos of it before going inside.
The Carnegie Library Mission
It has really been fun finding these old libraries. They are now all over 100 years old. To me that means that I need to get out there and document them before they are gone. They were built with a mission, but if they are not repurposed these buildings can be torn down. Every one that I see and photograph is another one documented. It has been a fun mission with a few surprises like this one along the way.
