A Former Family Video Store
The Family Video chain seems to have been made for the previously theme of the blog. The store were very distinctive to the point that you recognize them even when they have another business in them now. This Penguin Liquor store occupies the former Family Video store on 9th Street in Lafayette. We were eating across the street from here, and I was hoping for an empty store when we left so that I could make a photo. With the unique nature of the store this could be a fun running series on the blog.
The Video Days
It is hard to believe how long ago it has been now that video stores were a big thing. They used to be the only way to get a new release movie. You would go to the video store and hope that the little tag was on the movie that you wanted to watch that night. Of course now you can just get them online. No need to leave the house. There was something cool though about looking through the movies on the shelf back in the day. I am sure at some point these kinds of stores might come back in some way more as a curiosity or a type of antique store.
