Seeing Night Ranger Live

Friday night I was back at the Long Center for my first concert of 2026.

Two For One

When you see Night Ranger you are also getting a little bonus. Bassist and lead singer Jack Blades was also in Damn Yankees. During the show you get to hear Coming Of Age and High Enough. Back in 1990 I loved the song High Enough so it was really cool to see it performed live. That first Damn Yankees album was one of my first cd’s. I am pretty sure that it still came in that super long box. Hard to believe that I bought that cd over 35 years ago.

The Details

When you photograph a show like this you only get the first three songs. You have to really work to get a gallery in during that time. I tried to quickly get something of all of the members. When I thought that I had what I needed I started looking for other things for my gallery. These two close ups of guitarist Kerri Kelly’s mic stand and hand were two of my favorites. They were right in front of me so it was easy to make these photos. Before the show I debated taking my 300mm lens. I am glad that I did. It let me make these detail photos and also get much closer to the artists.

The Long Center

I have said it before and I will say it again. I love making photos in the Long Center. This historic theater has seen a lot over the years. I opened in 1921 and is still going strong. I really want to find a show where I can move around and show off the theater during the performance a little more. I try and put some of the iconic Mars Theater m’s into my wides every show. More than likely I will be back in the Long Center this Friday for another show. Below are a few bonus photos from the rock show on Friday night.
