The Week In Sports

The Week That Was In Sports

It is hard to believe that this is the last edition of the week in sports for 2025. It seemed like we had just started the year off. Here we are already saying goodbye to it. I still have two more events this year, but for the most part the book is starting to close on 2025. This was a fun year filled with some cool new opportunities. I think for this business to survive I am going to have to change what I photograph in the future. This year showed me that there is a path. I am sure in the next couple of weeks I will have a best of post that talks a little bit more about that.

A Great Win To Go Out On

Purdue had a very convincing win to end their non-conference schedule. The Big Ten awaits from here on out. So far this season Purdue is undefeated at home. Illinois comes in tomorrow to give them their first big home test. It will be interesting to see how this team comes together the rest of the season. They have almost a completely new roster so the team needs to gel a little. When they are clicking they look really good.

Using The Sony 50-150mm Lens

This lens has really changed how I photograph basketball. I really debated buying it. Would it do anything different than what I was already using? The answer is yes. I basically made a couple of photos with my 28-70mm lens during the game. For the most part I was just using my 50-150 for the entire game. As we get deeper into the winter sports it will be fun to keep pushing it to see how much I can get away with using it. In the past I have had some buyers remorse after making a big lens purchase. When you spend a ton of money on one lens it is only natural. I have not had one moment of remorse with this lens. It was worth every penny.

Merry Christmas!

I don’t know if it was on purpose, but Jackson State being the last game before Christmas seemed kind of fitting. You have one player named Skyler Christmas and one named Pierre-Noelle Tcheuhchoua. A lot of Christmas spirit leading up to the holiday.

More Photos From The Week

Below are a few bonus photos that I liked from this past week. With only one game it won’t be the normal long post.
