Scenes From The Merry Makers Market

A Fun Photo To Start

I love this corner of town. The candy shop always looks good. Here after the sun set it looked even better with a fresh coat of snow and Santa standing outside of it. This was two weekends in a row seeing Santa downtown. This photo has a little old time feel to it. I just like how it looks. The snow had slowed down so the snokeh was not really happening, but the flash gave this a look that I like.

A Little History

I have seen the guy walking through this photo leave the Lafayette Brewing Company many times over the years. He always finishes his drink and then rubs Purdue Pete’s nose before leaving. I missed that this time, but on my walk around town I caught him going past the iconic Lafayette Theater. It was the end of a day long snow storm, but enough was coming down here to let me make a photo.

Photographing The Market

Normally this is one of my favorite days to walk downtown. Everything is closed down for the market so I can get some angles of buildings that I would normally have to be out in traffic for. This year the market went indoors because of the weather. It was cold and the snow was really falling for most of the market. I showed up a little late because I had a basketball game in the afternoon. I still tried to document some of the events outside in the snow. Below are a few bonus photos from my walk around town.
