A Snowy Walk Around Purdue
Last week I had a great, snowy walk around the campus of Purdue. It was a fun walk where I made a lot of photos that I really liked. Not all of them were Christmas themed, but there is enough decorating around campus to make this a Christmas post. The photo above is one of the last ones that I made on the night, but one of my favorites.
People Make The Photos
Part of the fun of walking around campus was finding the right people to walk through my scene. I had the shutter just slow enough to obscure them a little bit while still saving enough to show that it was a person. This is one of my favorite examples of doing that. The coat with the hood looked great, and I could still drag the shutter just a bit. You are not being very subtle when you are making snokeh photos. The pop of the flash is a dead giveaway that you are making photos. I only had one person come up to see what I was doing, and they were not even in my photos. As someone who doesn’t like their photo made I am very cautious about making photos of others. They do add to these photos though.
People Making Photos
This was a fun scene. Students enjoying the snow and making a photo to remember it. I walked up and made a snokeh photo of them making the photo. It was one of my favorite photos of the night. These are the cool moments that you only get by walking campus way too long.
