Three Cameras At The Halleck Building

Three Cameras At The Halleck Building

The Halleck Building is an interesting one in Lafayette. For years it was a government building that also housed the local post office. I believe now that it is just sitting there empty. It is a good building to merge a couple of my projects together for though. I have my post office project, and my three camera project. Below are the results from my three camera experiment at the Halleck Building.

Sony A7RIII With The Sony 24-105mm Lens

By the end of the week you will be sick of me saying this, but this is my every day camera. I make photos with it nearly every day so I know what it will do, and more importantly what the photos will look like from it. It becomes the control of this experiment.

Minolta Freedom Zoom 125 With Aurora 800

This might have become my most used film camera. The Aurora 800 is not the best film for use in the daylight. I needed to use it up before another shoot though so I made a few photos downtown with it. This photo is a little washed out, but I like the way that it looks. It really has that vintage film look to it.

Sears TLS With Fujifilm 400

As I said in yesterday’s post this is the cheapes film that I buy most of the time. I love the colors that it produces though. Here I love the way that it renders the building and the sky. The colors work very well together. I am currently out of this film, but I may have to order some soon.

Verdict

This is the part of the post where for some reason I always have to pick a winner. This isn’t really a contest, but it is fun to kind of make it one. Here again I think that the FujiFilm 400 film wins out. It is much closer than it was yesterday though. If I could control the point and shoot more to try and bring the exposure down it would have been much closer. The colors with the cheap film are just too good to ignore though. Which one is your favorite?
