A Cool Blue Hour Location

The other night we had dinner at East End Grille and the light was really good for a few photos. We had finished eating so I went for a walk around the block. Over the years I have made many photos of the Virtuous Cycle location. This is my first since the fire though. I liked the way that the streetlight lit the frame in front of the store.

Photographing What Is In Front Of You

The light drew me to this photo. It was only when I was set up to make the photo when I realized that someone was sleeping in front of the building. I decided to make the frame anyway and decide later what to do. If you spend any amount of time downtown then you know that there is a homeless problem there. As we eat or shop downtown they walk by. I wish that I had a better mind to figure out how to help. They don’t get much of a break from the heat of summer to the winter that is coming soon. Hopefully they take advantage of some of the resources that are available to them, and hopefully those resources continue to operate.
