Back Where The Blog Started
On this date in 2011 I was at a football game thinking that I was making amazing images. I was not for sure, but in my mind people had to see them. I had a sports blog, but I wanted to start a photo 365 project to help me grow as a photographer. That project would literally change my life on many levels. For the next year on here I posted awful photos that I saw everyday. That little experiment though taught me to keep my eyes open and always be looking for a photo. That started what I like to call the sickness where I always have a camera with me, and I am always looking for a photo.
That First Photo
Man this first photo was bad. At the time I was looking for ways to send it in to Sports Illustrated. That seems funny looking at it, but it is true. I really thought that I had something amazing going on here. Danny Anthrop had just reversed course on a punt return and started heading my way. He would score on this play, but I filled my buffer up when he was far away from me. Part of the fun of this blog is being able to look at your old stuff and realize that it is terrible. The fun comes from the growth as a photographer. It is kind of neat to think that this was made with my first telephoto lens, and the photo that leads off the post was made with my newest telephoto lens. Both my camera systems and I have come a long way in the last 14 years.
