Hotel Fiction At HI FI

Hotel Fiction Opens Up For hey, nothing

Last week I was deep into the concert photos. I photographed three shows in six days, and this blog basically became a music blog. The one band that I couldn’t fit into the week was Hotel Fiction. They opened up for hey, nothing Wednesday at HI-FI. You never know what you are going to get with an opener. I spent the week listening to them though, and I was very surprised. They also put on a great live show. I have the feeling that we saw them as an opener this time, but the next time that we go see them they will be headlining.

A Different Concert Setup

There was no pit at this venue to make photos. You basically have to go and claim a front row spot if you want to pretend that you are in the pit. For the opener I stayed back a bit with my wife to enjoy the show. I thought that it was a better angle of the artists than right up front. I like what I was able to do, but that also meant that some of the band members were blocked from me. I think if I ever photograph a concert at this venue again that I will have a game plan to move around a little more. It will be harder, but hopefully worth it.

A Fun Bonus Moment

Hotel Fiction came back out on stage as hey, nothing was closing their show. It was a fun way to end the night. Jade threw a set of beads into the crowd while everyone was dancing around. My wife had her phone up filming the end of the show, and the beads looped right around her arm that was up. I was lucky enough to capture the moment that the beads went into the air.
