Having A Little Fun At The LaPorte County Courthouse

I was walking LaPorte one night just before the light really started getting good. It was that weird time when the subject is dark and the sky is very bright. I came up with this idea to combat that a little. I would go with a really dark courthouse and lean into that white sky a little. This black and white was pretty much what I had in my mind. The motion blur from a truck going by just kind of adds to the photo.

Finding A Tripod

With a slow shutter and needing to be a little higher than the ground I needed a makeshift tripod. I found a trash can on the corner that would do the trick. It would help me stabilize my camera just enough to make this photo. Over the years I have used some crazy things as a makeshift tripod. This fairly clean trash can was pretty normal.
