Wabash Walls One Year Later: Untitled by Hiero Veiga

Watching Hiero Paint

One of the most interesting artists that came to town was Hiero Veiga. The other artists came to town with an idea or sketches of what they wanted. Hiero came to his wall and sat with it for a while before deciding what it needed. He was given probably the hardest wall of the festival. It was hot and didn’t take paint very well. He kept going until the last minute to get the wall done though. It wasn’t easy, but he was really fun to watch paint. There was a thoughtfulness to it that was really fun to see.

Wabash Walls Week

This week I thought that it would be fun to revisit the walls that were painted last year as part of the Wabash Walls project. I don’t know that I have ever been so inspired to try to be more of an artist than I was last year. Watching these murals go from plan to wall was very cool. Every artist seemed to have their own process, but the end result was great for all of them.
