Edna The Glass Artist
Over the course of my time last year watching the muralists I learned a lot of things. Most of them were just how this process is done. I learned something from everyone that I watched paint. From this wall by Grace The Streets though I also learned a little about Edna Browning Ruby. She was a prolific designer of stained glass windows around the start of the 20th century. She lived very near this mural in Lafayette. Later in the year I found myself in a church with her work in it. I was able to appreciate it a little more knowing some of her backstory.
Wabash Walls Week
This week I thought that it would be fun to revisit the walls that were painted last year as part of the Wabash Walls project. I don’t know that I have ever been so inspired to try to be more of an artist than I was last year. Watching these murals go from plan to wall was very cool. Every artist seemed to have their own process, but the end result was great for all of them.
