Saying Goodbye To Ryne Sandberg

Sunday while watching the Hall of Fame ceremony there were a lot of tears shed when Ryne Sandberg had his name mentioned. At that moment I realized that things must not be so good for the former slugger. If you know me then you know that I am a die hard White Sox fan. As a kid growing up though you had to love watching Ryne Sandberg play the game. He did things the right way, and had a great career. I made the photo above on my birthday in 2005 when the Cubs retired Ryno’s number. It was a great birthday present for me to get to see this happen from a pretty good vantage point. It is a sad day when a legend leaves us too soon.

The Last Days Of The Point And Shoot

I made this photo in August of 2005 with my Kodak point and shoot camera. That camera went to a few places with me, but by the next summer I would have my first dSLR. It would be years before I learned how to use it, but man with a little gear this could have been a much better photo. It is still a really fun photo that reminds me of a great year.
