Back At The Greater Lafayette World Series

I had planned to catch parts of two games last Saturday during the Greater Lafayette World Series. I saw almost an inning and a half of one game, and the game that was to follow would not be played. Because of rain no more games were played at Bob Friend Field. I wish that I had been able to see more baseball, but the weather didn’t allow it. It was neat to get out and see a little ball though.

Having Some Fun At The Aviators

Thursday night we had a work function at Loeb Stadium to attend. Of course I took my camera to make some photos. It was a typical Prospect League game that went back and forth with both teams angry at the umpires. At one point I wondered if there would be more runs or ejections during the game. The Aviators fell in 11, but it was still an exciting game to watch.

Filter Fun

I bought this gold light leak filter during basketball season to play around with. Basketball season can be a grind so it was fun to have a new toy to play with. Here I don’t know that it worked as well as I would have wanted it to, but it helped me make some fun photos.

Details

Some of the fun during the game is to find little detail photos to round out your gallery. This was one of my favorites from the night. It is a simple photo, but maybe that is why I like it.

A Crazy Play

Can you believe that this play here was actually a double play? It was a pop up to the outfield that caused two Aviator players to crash into each other. The ball fell to the ground and was picked up and thrown to third to get an out. The runner on second froze because it was a ball to the outfield. Just before the next pitch was to be thrown the umpires started talking and decided that it was an infield fly. Even though they didn’t call it in the moment it just was. The runner was automatically out. The runner that was called out at third was no longer a force then but they still decided that they were out as well. It was a crazy play, and something that you see from time to time in this league.
