The Week In Sports

The Week In Sports

This week I didn’t think that I had a chance to photograph any sports. It just was not going to work out. Then I saw that the Greater Lafayette World Series was happening this weekend. In fact games were happening in my neighborhood. I went down Thursday afternoon for a couple of hours to get some baseball photography in. I really haven’t photographed much baseball this year. It was an unexpected surprise to get to photograph a little at Bob Friend Field again this year.

Dialing Things In

Like I said above I have not photographed a ton of baseball this year. Every time that I do it feels like I have to dial things in a little. It doesn’t take long, but I have not gotten in a baseball groove yet this year. It would be cool to string some games together like I was doing with softball.

Detail Work

I get as excited finding a detail photo like this one as I do when I make a really nice action shot. They help fill out the gallery and change things up a little. I really liked the idea of the lightning necklace with the word Thunder right under it. I worked this photo harder than I did any action photo on the day.

Bring The Wide

When I left the house I almost didn’t take a second camera. I had a concert at night, and the idea of traveling light sounded pretty good to me. I wanted my bag though for batteries and extra cards. I threw my 24-105 into it just in case. I only made one photo with it, but I am glad that I took it.

More Photos From The Week

Here are a few bonus photos that I liked from this past week. This coming week was looking pretty light for sports as well. Maybe this tournament in town can let me get out and make some baseball photos.
