A Quick Lightning Strike

A while back I was out and about hoping for some good light as the sun set. A storm was rolling in from the north and the south so I was hoping for something cool. That never really panned out, but I saw the storm to the south was really doing good things. I was headed to campus to make a photo, but I decided to stop early to try and capture a bolt. I had just set up the tripod and made only a couple of frames before this photo happened. It kind of caught me off guard. I stayed around to make more, but never got anything like this again.

A Familiar Photo

I have made a photo like this before. This is a great spot with a great view to make photos when storms are just off to the south. It makes sense to stop here. You can be up a little higher to get more of the bolts as they show up. I haven’t done a lot of lightning photography lately, so it was nice to luck into this photo.

The Week In Sports

This was the closest that I got to photographing sports this week. I had a lot of other things to photograph, and sports just wasn’t on the agenda. As of right now next week is kind of looking the same. I think until the college sports season starts my little Saturday segment will be very hit and miss.
