The Chalmers American Legion

This photo will always have a weird meaning to me. On Halloween of last year I was driving home because I knew that my father had been taken to the hospital. At the start of my drive I found out that he had passed. It took a couple of towns, but I just needed to get off the road for a minute and clear my head. I saw this American Legion building and decided to make a photo of it. It was night and the only thing lighting the building up was the streetlights, but I was going to make a photo of it. At the end of the day I just needed a quick break to think about things, and this photo was a great excuse to do just that.

Legion Week

Just like last year I am going to take a look at some American Legion buildings on the blog this week with it being the week of the 4th. This year it works out pretty well that the 4th falls on a Friday so that I can have a week leading up to the big day.
